Due to the spin-off of the "New Drugs & Biotech Department" of Sumitomo Corporation in 1995,
we have made a new start as an integrated service company, which specializes in the research and
development of pharmaceuticals.
Subsequently, we have provided services in research and development assistance to Japanese
pharmaceutical companies ranging from the assistance with original drug research to the arranging
of licensing, production and import and export of new drugs and diagnostic products.
The motivation of our business activities comes from the superiority
of intellectual resources in overseas venture businesses and research
institutions. We gather technological information from Europe and
America and delve into corporates using the Sumitomo Corporation
network and the extensive know-how gained over many years.
Based on these results we provide outsourcing opportunities for our
Japanese customers, assist with solutions to research issues and
provide proposals, which conform to customer requirements.
SPI will also continue to work with our customers to support the
discovery of new drugs by providing "bridge building" to accurately
bring the superior intellectual resources from overseas to the
Japanese markets. |
